Pregnant and not excited or happy . Anyone else?

I was the same with my current pregnancy it’s taken me a long time to get used to the idea.. sometimes it just takes a little time but as I see it everything happens for a reason x

When I initially found out I was kind of excited, but mostly in shock. Once it sunk in, I was actually really upset and cried for days. 
I felt pressured into getting pregnant because my mom was nagging me about wanting grandchildren for years and I kept putting it off. I told her we’d start trying last year. 
Then she said she lost her job and was going to be moving in with us, so I told my husband we needed get pregnant that month before my mom moved in, because I didn’t want to have any sexcapades while she was living with us. Anyway, I didn’t think it worked, because I mean, it hadn’t worked in a year so far and I thought I messed up my ovulation tracking, but it most definitely did... and then after she moved in, my mom told me she had already gotten a job in another state and was leaving in two weeks... I found out I was pregnant a few days after she left. 
My husband kept saying now is a good time since I’m going to be 33 this year, and we both don’t want to be too old when we have kids like our parents were. Our dad’s are both going go be 72 this year. So I’ve given into the idea that it’s the right time, but I’m not really that excited still. I’ve never liked kids, and even though I knew I wanted kids someday, I just never felt like I wanted any at the time. Now I feel like I don’t have a choice. 
It also didn’t help that my husband told me he didn’t want kids when we first met. I told him I wanted them someday, and he flip flopped on the idea. As the years passed, he said he wanted kids, but at times still said he didn’t. He said he was happy when I got pregnant, but he didn’t seem very happy. I think he was just saying it to be strong for me and reassure me that it wasn’t bad. It seems like he’s been more excited since seeing the ultrasounds and getting our NIPT results. Although, he does seem a little sad it’s a girl not a boy.

That was me with my second pregnancy after we announced to family because so many people were making rude comments because my girls are a year apart. I never wanted to talk about it, I would try to hide my belly. It all extended over into after she was born and I had horrible PPD until she was about 5 months old. I pretty much told the people we’re making everything about my pregnancy and after so negative that they can either shove it and be in my child’s life or they can stay away from her. Most of them straightened up pretty quick. Now with #3 I just found out I’m expecting I’m so excited but I’m still waiting for my drs appt so my anxiety is through the roof I’m afraid to tell family again because this one and my second will be 18 mo apart. I don’t want a repeat of what happened with my second.

After 4 mcs on the road to #2 im indifferent. Im hoping for the best but expecting the worst even though this pregnancy is going fine. I want to be happy, just don't feel that way yet

I was the same at the start of this pregnancy. I just lost my joy in everything and really regretted my pregnancy and dreaded the thought of actually going through with it. 
It was a planned pregnancy, but happened really quickly when we thought it would take about 6 months to a year (I’ve been on birth control since I was a teenager).
My doctor signed me off work for a couple of weeks and I went to counselling with a woman I’d seen a couple of years before and who I liked and trusted and she really helped me. The counselling took about 3 months, but just really helped me sort my head and my feelings and thoughts out.
I’m due in less than 2 weeks and am at the stage where I am excited to meet the baby and really feel like I’m ready for this.
I would definitely recommend talking to a counsellor/therapist, but once that you click with.
Good luck with whatever you decided to do. Pregnancy is really difficult, and it’s ok to feel overwhelmed or not to feel full of joy about it.
