Question

Is there any nurses on here who is pregnant?? Im a first year student nurse currently 15 weeks. I will be back on placement in three weeks until i am 38 weeks. Il be doing 12hr shifts and wondering how anyone else coped??,

Im a nurse doing 12 hr nights at 27 weeks currently and hoping to work up until my due date. Definitely invest in some good shoes and compression socks and drink water every chance you get. Make sure you are taking care of yourself!

I’m a respiratory therapist and a nursing student as well! Take it Day by day make sure you keep up on protein and water! Take a rest when you need to, they should understand!

ER nurse 12 hour shifts. Stay hydrated and compression socks. My ER is really great at making sure I’m safe.....no lifting patients and no crazy violent patients. Not everywhere is like that. It does get a little hard in some situations but you just work through it and do what you can. I’d say the hardest part for me is having to move really fast for a critical patient—-I have horrible hip pain and my belly is huge so having to move really fast to get meds or get a patient to CT is a little rough. Lucky for me I have a wonderful team that I work with and we all work together to make sure the patients are taken care of. Def a better experience than I had being pregnant while workin on a medical-surgical floor.
