When was your first ultrasound?

Just got word that (even at 35 yo) my first ultrasound wont be until 12 weeks....

My doctor does it at 8 weeks. But 8-12 weeks is pretty standard. At least you’ll get super cute pictures from it! ❤️

I would ask for an earlier dating scan. Maybe around 8-9 weeks.

If your doctor won’t do it, I’ve heard of a lot of women going to a private ultrasound place and getting it done.

Thanks, think I’m going to insist on an earlier scan, especially since my last pregnancy was a miscarriage (9 weeks, didn’t find out until 11) with no pain or symptoms...

With all three of my pregnancies they did a blood draw to test my levels at 8 weeks and an actual ultrasound at 12 weeks

I went to a free pregnancy resource clinic at 8 weeks because I was uninsured and just wanted to confirm. I got insurance at 11 weeks and they did a scan at 13 weeks for genetic testing (nuchal fold measurement etc) then my anatomy at 20. I don’t think I’ll get another one unless there’s an issue, but I have to ask my midwife at my next checkup.

My OB doesn't do an ultrasound until 20 weeks. I just got to hear the heartbeat at 12 w and I will again at 17w.
