Anyone with a toddler and newborn? Help!

Question

I have an almost 3 year old and an 8 week old.  I have to get 3 year old to daycare in the morning around 8am which is when the newborn usually takes his nap.  Newborn hates carseat and so usually doesn't fall asleep in it.  Anyone have any suggestions?

If you can't change the time & you can't walk there, unfortunately baby will just learn to adapt. It sounds harsh, but your 2nd (especially when you have a toddler), has to learn to adapt pretty quickly. With your first, you can afford to put your food & bathroom breaks & activities on hold just so baby can be held or sleep or doesn't cry...when you have a toddler who can't do those things for themselves, the world doesn't just pause for a crying baby. That was the hardest thing I had to learn when I had my 2nd. I can neglect ME but I can't neglect my oldest for my youngest & vice versa. Sometimes that means baby's going to cry & sometimes that means the toddler's going to cry. Weigh your options & pick the best one...they may both suck but sometimes that's all you can do. Eventually, you'll get into the swing of things. Good luck Mama!
