Curious if anybody on here has chosen to go with a hospital that is not in the network of their insurance . Long story short I like more natural deliveries and have tried for home births but due to low birth weights (4lb babies) and early arrivals (at least a month early) that’s not doable . Our one local hospital has had some serious legal issues going on (bloody equipment, terminally ill babies being told they are fine only to be rushed to a big city to find out they aren’t ok etc.) I’m not wanting to deliver here . My one option is out of network and only way insurance can cover is if I get a primary doctor here to refer me .

Any tips on how to get a local ob to agree to let you go

Benefits are also with my low birth weight and early deliveries they out of network hospital has a nicu .
