Episiotomy sutures came apart...anyone else??
My bub needed an assisted vacuum birth due to his heart rate dropping. This meant I required an episiotomy. It was sutured up immediately after the birth however 4 days later the sutures burst and it’s now open. The gynae doc said that it’s too late to re-stitch and it will eventually heal itself with time. In the meantime I’ve got antibiotics and keeping it clean with salt water rinses, showering after pooping and drying with a blow dryer.
It’s not the outcome I was hoping for but could be worse 😰
Anyone else??
Ps. The doc said it’s no fault of my own, that sutures sometimes come undone and nothing I could have done to prevent it
