Travel systems

I’m trying to decide if it’s worth buying a travel system or to just purchase a car seat for our little one. My mom is saying buying a stroller isn’t even worth it until they get older because you won’t use it much 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m a FTM so I have zero clue on how much I would actually use a stroller. So how much did you all find you used a stroller for say the first year of your child’s life? Do you think purchasing the whole travel system initially would be worth it?
