Birthing experience through the eyes of a non-gestational mother

Jennifer

Let me start of by saying that my wife did an amazing job and I know that at some point she will share her own birthing experience.

February 28th mucus plug was lost. And intuition told us-he will be here tomorrow (EDD was March 5th.)

At around 1 am on March 1st, my wife woke up with “contractions are about 7 mins apart.”

Our son’s godparents are already on their way as I’m getting last minute things together.

My heart is racing, I can’t believe that it’s finally time to meet him. The thought of having him in my arms was pumping extra blood through my heart.

Around 3am we make our way to the hospital since contractions were 5 mins apart... after being checked and being notified my wife was 2cm apart we were being sent back home.

My wife did fkn amazing while we were home for the next few hours. She continued to use the birthing ball and use breathing exercises. I was sooo impressed! At about 2:30pm we are making our way back to the hospital because contractions are about 2-3 mins apart and intense. My wife gets checked and she’s 9cm! I was so proud of her. In about an hour she was 10 cm and water broke. And I’m just sitting there in amazement. Like woah my wife is strong! I had never been in a delivery room before. I am so glad I was this was my first experience. I couldn’t stop staring at her... feeling myself fall more and more in love. After about 20 pushes Mekhi was in her arms! And I cried my heart out. I could not believe how beautiful he looked. I couldn’t believe how my wife was suddenly peaceful and almost in a trance when locking eyes with him. All I wanted to do was curl up next to them. Now I’m siting here staring at them sleep and I couldn’t be happier and at peace. My dreams of becoming a mommy have now been made possible.
