I thought I was going to be kidnapped?

Yesterday I took an Uber back from the mall and I live in a pretty populated city that has its fair share of crime. I am a college student and I decided to take an Uber back to my dorm because it’s faster than taking the bus and I had somewhere to be later that evening. I left the mall around 3pm. My Uber driver was a guy and he seemed normal. When we left the mall he made the wrong turn and then he said we would take a short cut instead, so he pulled into this parking lot and it was of a strip club and then I felt uncomfortable because no one was really there. He then proceeded to drive in the alleyway and stopped his car and right on the side where I was sitting, the back/side door from the strip club was less than 5ft away from my car door. I felt scared and my instincts kicked in and I really thought I was going to be kidnapped and dragged into the strip club. I put my hand on the door, ready to dash out if any sign of danger were to pop up and my Uber driver got confused and then he asked if I was okay and that he was just lost and trying to find a way back onto the main road. I apologized to him and told him that my biggest fear is being kidnapped and he told me that he understood and that he felt bad because women have it hard when it comes to that. I told my guy friends this story and they said I overreacted about it. I’m only 5ft tall and I weigh less than 100 pounds. I could easily be snatched. I don’t think I was overreacting, my instincts kicked in because being kidnapped is serious. Do you think I overreacted to the situation ?
