Should I get my IUD removed. I have had a period just about every day since I had it inserted in December of 2018. Sometimes I have cramps but no period... and that bugs me. But most days I’m bleeding! So, should I have it removed or keep it since I’m sexually active?

You can get spotting or cramping for up to 6 months post iud insertion. That’s actually normal.

I had the mirena. Inserted end of November, spotted and even got my period. You can spot anywhere from 3-6 months. My doctor stated if I am still spotting at 3 months to see her. Did your doctor even mention to you about the monthly spotting, bleeding, cramping? Each iud comes with a pamphlet to read. I always read into whatever I put in my body first, before deciding what is right for me. I am on my 2nd iud and each boom States that bleeding and cramps can be anywhere from 3-6 months. Etc. and yes, it’s constant, unless you call your doctor.

My GYN explained that this is a possible side effect. She told me that I could possibly have heavier periods, spotting/breakthrough bleeding, and cramps for up to the first six months. I have had spotting on and off for a few weeks now. I hope this resolves for you soon. You should contact your doctor if it continues.
