Blood sugar issue
I know you all aren’t medical professionals, well maybe some are. Anywho...
I’ve been having awful issues with my blood sugar this pregnancy. I’m 13w5d and their has been many many occurrences where I get extremely dizzy or light headed or shakey, usually I’m at a place where I can just sit down right there and drink some water and eat something and I feel better shortly after resting. Well Friday my blood sugar got so low I passed out. I was at work and I work in a hospital so was taken care of very promptly and I was so lucky I was there when it happened. I completely blacked out and they said my lips were completely blue and I was as white as paper. When I woke up they tested my blood sugar and it was 64 so very low. They gave me a bag of iv fluid and juice to raise my sugar and about three hrs later it’s now 80 so it’s still not great but it’s getting better to they discharged me. I told my Ob so she is aware and we will be discussing it at my appt on Thursday. I guess my question is if any other mamas are struggling with the same thing. And before you ask I did eat not to long before I passed out. I had a bowl of special k cereal at 5:30am and passed out at 8:30am. My doc asked if anybody in my family has diabetes or has ever had gestational diabetes. I told her no. Do you think because it’s so frequent I could have gestational diabetes or do you think it’s just my baby sucking everything from me and I need to eat more frequently?
