How many of you are planning on having a doula? I hired a doula because I'm not interested in being chained down to a hospital bed while I'm in labor which is so uncomfortable and very unnatural. We as women have been birthing children for years without any unnecessary medical intervention. Nurses and doctors are known to rush birth and do unnecessary c sections for their convenience. This is why I would totally do a home birth, but because of how expensive it is I choose to hire just a doula and do 80% of my labor at home then move on to the hospital when I'm very close to delivering. I want to be comfortable at come for the longest I can. This may not be for everyone, I am not getting the epidural so I'm able to choose this route. Also this is baby 5 so I'm also am in tune with my body (in addition to a doula) enough to extend home labor prior to hospital check in. What are some of your birth plans?
