Insurance through the state/father having to pay the bill?

So some people have been stressing me and my fiance out lately. I swear I hear different things from everyone on the topic and I dont know who to ask for some real answers. 
I am insured through the state, my boyfriend and I are getting married in just a couple weeks. I've been hearing from a couple people that he will be forwarded my hospital bill for baby. This is stressing him and I out because he doesn't even have insurance for himself (can't afford that +the deductible) he's not rich. Makes just about or just under 30k a year and is our only income at this moment. 
I've heard "maybe" on this throughout the pregnancy but no one has actually said it happened to them. Its not like we're rich here. So does anyone have any input on this at all? 
Also, if he does get footed the bill what do you think is approximately how much a minimum monthly payment would be and does it work that way even if its for me? If we're married wouldn't that make it my debt as well?

If you’re insured through the state then it would be through your insurance . Not sure why he would be given the bill? Even if you’re married doesn’t mean you have to be on the same insurance

Just because you get married doesn’t mean you automatically are out on his insurance. I really wouldn’t worry about that.

My concern would be if your household income goes up when you get married you might be at risk of losing Medicaid eligibility. No, your husband won’t automatically get a bill, you’ll get the bill, but if you lose Medicaid and don’t have insurance at the time of delivery you could be facing a large bill.  If your husband has insurance through work you should be eligible to change to his insurance when you get married (it’s typically a qualifying life event for changing insurance coverage) but the employer/spouse rate may be more expensive than you guys can afford (and employee/family rates are typically even more expensive). 
What I think you need to look into is what the eligibility requirements are for Medicaid in your state and whether you’ll lose eligibility if you get married. And find out your husbands insurance rates so you’ll be prepared with the potential options.

If you and baby are on Medicaid through your state it won’t suddenly disappear, even if you get married. The birth should still be insured. If your scared call the insurance phone number and ask.

As soon as you get married you need to add him onto your state insurance, which could kick you off of it if you two are over income together.

Which state? Every state has different regulations when it comes to insurance for adults & pediatrics. Either way if it’s some type of Medicaid it would be billed to you & I believe it also covers baby for the 1st month of life until he/she gets their SS card then you have to insure your baby separately. Being married doesn’t matter, I got married last August & haven’t been added to my husbands insurance bc it’s not open enrollment. 
If you have any specific questions call your insurance or schedule an appointment with a case worker to go over everything you need! I know I need to update my insurance this month & it’s stressing me out but bc I also have Medicaid but I checked with my OBs office & so far everything is covered 100%
