Emptying Cup

Hey ladies! So I bought a DivaCup and used it for my last cycle, and I LOVE it!!! I’ve always had heavy periods, and I was excited to be able to possibly wear the cup for 12 hours between emptying it. However, on my heavy days (about 3 solid days), I had to empty the cup every 1.5 hours to avoid spills. And yes, the cup was FULL that often. Do any of you guys have to empty your cup that often on your heavy days, or is my period just unusually heavy? Should I get checked by a doctor? I knew my periods were heavy, I just didn’t realize HOW heavy until I actually saw the amount of blood filling the cup so often.
