When being induced....

Question

If you are induced before 40 weeks because of hypertension or diabetes how far in advance do they schedule it?

Answer

At my job I usually see scheduled inductions for diabetes at 39 weeks and usually see unscheduled inductions for hypertension, those patients are usually induced because the hypertension was found to be uncontrolled at their appointment. I’m sure each doctor/midwife decides things differently though.

They found protein in my urine at my appointment and sent me to labor and delivery that night. I was induced and it failed which ended up in C-section. I was 38 week.

I never had this experience but my friend had went in for her drs appointment and her blood pressure was super high. They sent her straight to labor and delivery and induced her that night. She was 26 weeks.
