Should I see my GP?

Hi guys , 
I’m 25 weeks pregnant on Friday. 
Unfortunately I have a really chesty cough and a cold. I’m constantly coughing and I’m worried this could harm the baby. Normally I wouldn’t go to the GP for type of virus but my cough is very loud, painful In my throat and making my stomach contract constantly. 
Shall I visit my GP or will I be wasting GP time as I don’t think they can do anything for me ?

I had something similar. Go to GP to get swabbed for flu and strep. I’d both are negative they won’t do anything but if positive they will give you meds. Also, if you have fever take Tylenol and drink a lot of water. You can also take Robotussin to ease the coughing.

I was coughing extremely bad and had a low grade fever. Called the in call nurse they told me to come I to emergency to only be told they couldn't do anything for me because I was pregnant

You could try chemist first they can advise if you need to see doctor or if there is something they can give you.

My cough is so bad, im with you on that. I went to my doctor on Monday and they said unfortunately they couldnt give me anything bt to get rest, drink plenty of water or tea. My nose is extremely congested so she did give me some sudafed and said to only take 1 every 6 hours. Tylenol for fever up to 2 325mg pills. But my cough is very bad, phlegm and everything. My chest hurts like crazy when i cough. My nose is also dry it hurts. Its crazy at how theres so much out there bt when pregnant you just have to weigh it out. Good luck.

Yes I would before your cough gets too bad and your bruise a rib! It’s painful and healing takes a while

Definitely go in to see the doctor, I am still recovering from something very similar and the doctor checked out my chest and listened to my lungs to make sure that was ok. The advice was to go home and rest, if I got any worse (even slightly) I would have to go back to the doctors or a&e. Unfortunately there isn’t any medication that they would prescribe to me or advise that I take, so it has been a really long recovery but I have started to get better! 
I was really worried that all of the coughing was hurting the baby, and with every coughing fit I was throwing up as she’s taking up more room inside of me.
The doctors are always happy to see a pregnant woman if she has any concerns at all, they prefer for us to be cautious with illness and seek help if we are unwell.

I would go in. I ended up having a sinus infection last week. 
The dr did tell me that upper respiratory can’t hurt the baby. I asked even with all the coughing and she said he was fine. But the second I got a fever I needed antibiotics. I just finished them and feel tons better. 
Hang in there. Being sick while pregnant is the worst!
