I’ve been wanting to share my birth story. I wasn’t due until March 13, 2019. But at my 37 week appointment I found out I had preeclampsia and had to be induced. At 37 weeks and 6 days I was scheduled to be induced. I went in at 7:30am and around 8:30am they gave me half a pill called Cytotec. Around 12:30pm I got a quarter of the same pill inserted into my vagina. Around 5:20pm they broke my water I was 3cm dilated. After they broke my water things happened fast. Contractions got horrible and I couldn’t breath. Since having preeclampsia and not being able to breath my blood pressure went up to 180/115 so I had to get the epidural to help it go down, which it did. LIFE SAVER. I went to 6cm by around 8:30pm then around 9pm I was to 8cm. Epidural wore off. It was time to push around 10pm. Doctor was surprised I didn’t need pitocin and went into labor on my own. I felt everything and honestly it was amazing and didn’t hurt as bad as I thought it would. At 11:36pm on February 26, 2019 I gave birth to my baby girl. But it doesn’t end there. After giving birth I kept feeling gushes of blood and clots coming out of me (felt like my water had broke with all the blood coming out) so I told my doctor and she lifted the sheet up and hurried up and put gloves on. She yelled for the other doctors and said I shouldn’t be bleeding like that. She kept pushing on my stomach and blood just kept gushing out. She said my placenta didn’t come all the way out and if they didn’t get me into surgery I would bleed out. They had to call the OR room and rush me into surgery. What was suppose to be only a 20 minute surgery took 2 hours. I almost died. My blood pressure went down to 70/30 and I lost 3 liters of blood. The next day I had to get a blood transfusion. I am so thankful I am still alive and that I have my daughter. Here’s my daughter Addelynn at 1 week old❤️
