Free bleed?

So I really want to begin the process of ditching conventional pads and tampons. Do any of you ladies have suggestions on period undies/reusable pads that aren’t crazy expensive? What are your experiences with free bleeding, is it worth trying out in your opinions?

I don’t understand the whole ‘free bleeding.’ Do people not work or leave the house while they do this? It just seems like a giant mess.

I personally don't agree with free bleeding. I don't much understand it and find it quite unsanitary. Just my opinion. Try looking into organic pads or tampons :)

How about a menstrual cup? I recently switched because I was tired of buying tampons every month and I heard tampons can have chemicals like bleach in them. I love the cup! I like knowing how much I’m actually bleeding and I’ve noticed that I have less old/brown blood since the switch. It has only leaked once when I was bleeding really heavy. Otherwise, I can keep it in 8ish hours and not have to worry about it! Less cramps too since I’ve been using the cup.

I've been using Thinx for about a year now and they're incredible. Not inexpensive, but definitely 100% worth the price. I've never leaked when wearing them so I don't even bother with tampons anymore even on heavy days. They're comfortable and easy to wash and they've held up great for me so far, haven't had to replace any yet. Absolutely recommend.

I use pads for days 1-3 and just kinda free bleed for the last two ish? I'm basically spotting and I can't be bothered to wear anything for it. I don't use any special underwear though..

Using period undies or reusable pads isn’t free bleeding. You’d have to use literally no period product, which I don’t understand why you’d do that but as long as you’re at home, idc 🤷🏾‍♀️
