My birth story 💙
I went in Friday the 15th of February for an elective induction. We got there at 8pm and started cytotec 9:30pm. I was due for a 2nd dose at 1:30am but I was contracting too much to get it.
2 hours later at around 3:30am, I was still having too many contractions to get more cytotec. Pitocin was started at 4:30am.
There was a shift change for the OB at 7am and the new doctor wanted to do a foley balloon to help me dialate more as I was still at 2cm. The balloon was inserted at 8am, it didn't hurt but having it in and going pee was so fun! 🙄 The OB came and checked the balloon at 1:30pm (the 16th) and it was still in place so I kept the balloon and was given more pitocin.
Finally the balloon was removed at 5:30pm when I hit 5cm.
I made it to 10:30pm when I hit 6cm before I couldn't take the pain. I was so exhausted and every time I would start to drift off another contraction would come. When I finally got the epidural it was amazing. I was able to sleep which was very needed.
At 2:30am they came to check me and I was at still at 6cm. They brought up that I may need a c-section. The OB put a monitor inside my uterus to see the strength of my contractions. I was so scared and my husband had fallen asleep. The nurse was an angel. She woke him up and, since I was crying and couldn't get words out, explained to him what was happening.
At 4:30am I was still at 6cm and they decided to do a c-section at 7am. Again I was terrified. When 7am hit they took me to another room. I felt a lot of tugging and pain in my ribs from them pushing down to get him out.
At 7:42am on February 17th our son was born. Weighing 7lb. 7oz. and 20 in. long.
