Breastfeeding class worth it?
The hospital offers free classes, and I took one 2 weeks ago or so now basically on what to expect during birth.
I HATED IT.
The RN teaching it made it obvious, without saying it, that she was anti epidural. The one poor girl kept asking questions about it and the RN kept deflecting and changing the topic. The RN told all the men in the room that if an anesthesiologist came in asking if we (aka: the person having the baby) wanted an epidural, to say NO!
Needless to say, it was a waste of 2 hours. Only semi helpful thing was the tour of the maternity unit, even though she focused more on other things up there than the actual tour/what to expect aspect.
Anyway, we weren’t planning on doing the breastfeeding one since the first class was a total waste of time. She just text me to confirm for tomorrow, but it sounds like there’s a different person teaching the class and she’s a lactation consultant. For those of you that took a breastfeeding class, was it worth it? My experience with the last class really bummed me out, so if I can save myself another 2 hours of wasted time I would like to do that.
Also, we did tell my doctor and his nurse about the class when we saw him next and he was appalled 😅
