Baby boy is here 39 + 1
I have read these stories for months and seemed like it would never be me! I was scheduled for induction today due to baby measuring on the large side for the last few months. I was also 75% effaced and 3cm dilated already. We arrived at 530 am this morning where they started pitocin and everything looked great. At about 8 they broke my water. I had not felt contractions at this point. After they broke my water, I did start to feel contractions, but nothing I couldn’t handle. I finally opted for the epidural around noon just out of anxiety of getting it lol. Ladies. I experienced ZERO pain receiving my epidural and once it was in, all discomfort drifted away. So after a few checks, my doctor caught me by surprise and said it was looking like a c section, as she didn’t think the baby could get his head through and it was starting to cause a lot of coning. Half hour later, they are rolling me in for a c section. I felt touch and pressure and all that but no pain at all. Getting him out took about 5 minutes and the rest of the time was closing me up. He was born weighing 8.7 pounds, not huge, but too big for me. I have spent MONTHS fearing this day and how awful I’ve heard it is. I am lucky to say it was nothing like I expected and went rather smoothly and minimally painful even considering a c section I never expected! Started induction at 530am and baby was born at 3:04 pm
