Transfer question

For my mock transfer, my bladder had to be very full and it has to be like that for the real transfer. They want me to practice holding my bladder as well. Pee for 15sec and then hold it.

Can I go to the bathroom right after the transfer?

I was able to go immediately after my transfer! My doctors also let you alleviate a little if you are super uncomfortable! My bladder happened to be too full for my transfer since I have a anteverted uterus (tipped down) so I had to let some out anyways!

I drank 1 - 16 ounce bottle of water on my way to the Dr. office (1 hour before transfer) & then after the transfer, the doctor emptied my bladder with a catheter. So, I didn’t have to get up. I could’ve held it though. I think they just need a full bladder so they can visualize where your uterus is located. It all worked fine.

It’s not as bad as you might think. You don’t need to have an uncomfortably full bladder...just a full bladder. Drink 16 ounces of water an hour beforehand & you’ll be fine.

Yes, I did. I had to drink 32 ounces starting 1 hour before the transfer. When I got there they checked my bladder but it wasn’t full enough so they made me drink 8 more ounces. It stunk, but it was so cool to see the whole transfer on the ultrasound machine.
