When did you stop taking folic acid?

I’m 12+1 on the higher dosage 5mg

Doctors usually recommend you taking prenatals for the entire pregnancy, don’t stop?

I guess it maybe depends why you are on the higher dose. I was on 5mg for a folate deficiency and they were stopped when I was no longer deficient although I was still taking the small dose in my prenatal. I had horrible sickness and would vomit the prenatal back up a lot and the consultant told me as long as I could make it past 14 weeks taking the prenatal, if it came back up past that point then it didn't matter as the folic acid had already completed it important job by then.

My orenatals have folate in them and i will continue taking them until I'm done breastfeeding unless my dr advises otherwise.
