What happens if you haven’t gone into labor by your last OB appt?

Will they just schedule another one for a week later and talk about inducement orrrr? My last appt I’ll be 39+3 and I’d really like to go a little past 40 before getting induced

Just ask your doctor to know exactly what their policies are, but yes generally they will just schedule another appt. That happened to me with my first child.

Of course every doctor/clinic will work a bit differently, but here’s how it worked for m... I went 42 weeks over. At my 40 week appt she had me set up another appointment with her at 41 weeks and also an appointment for a non stress test and ultrasound. At my 41 week appointment when things still weren’t happening, she scheduled me for my induction. At that point she said she’d either see me at the induction or sooner if I went into labor naturally.

During my last OB appointment they scheduled an induction date and if I went in labor before that then great if not they could plan for me to be there.

My OB office won’t let you go past 39 weeks. Safety and precaution reasons. With that being said, if I go in and haven’t had my boy by then, I’ll be scheduled for an induction. Truthfully I don’t mind. My other 2 were scheduled inductions and they went perfect
