Hypothetically if my water broke and I was in labor who would I call?

My doctors office or labor & delivery at the hospital?

It depends on your hospital and practice. For us, we call the Dr, then they call L & D. We won’t have a check in process with L&D because they’ll have everything when we get there. The dr is also the one to make the call ok if it’s time to go in or not. So I’d ask your Dr/hospital their protocol

I personally just go right to the hospital. I’ve had 3 kids and currently pregnant with my 4th and every time I just went to the hospital. With my first I was induced after a regular appointment because my fluids were low. My second my water broke and I just went to the hospital, with my third my water broke but I didn’t know because I was only very slightly leaking so I woke up to horrible contractions and again just went straight to the hospital.

Ask your doctor the procedure. With mine I’m supposed to call the doctor first and they will contact L&D to let them know I’m on my way
