Birth control & ovulation & breastfeeding

Ok so I’m breastfeeding my 17 month old & taking progesterone only birth control. My SO is in Canada (I’m from USA) at the moment & won’t be home for a couple of months.. we decided we wanted to start trying for number 2 & I still don’t have my period.. 10 days ago I went off the pill and now I’m have My first ovulation since conceiving my son.. I could fill a whole cup with the amount of clear sticky cervical mucus.. and now I’m regretting coming off the pill and wondering if I should go back on the pill so that I’ll have another big ovulation when my SO gets back in a few months? We came off because my OB said to stop taking it 3 months before we wanted to start trying, but I’m not guaranteed to ovulate since I’m still breastfeeding. So now that I know I’m having a super ovulation right now, I’m nervous I won’t ovulate again and it’ll take us awhile. Should I go back on the pill to have a big ovulation again or just stay off of it?
