Should I make the job change?

I’m 21 and have been working at this fast food place since I was 15. I get paid $13.50 for working 5 days a week 10 hours. I have Sunday’s and Fridays off. And I only working mornings. I’ve been thinking a lot about my future and I know I would not want to stay there forever. I got offered to take free cna classes and there are a lot of benefits from it. I’d also like to go back to school but with the job that I have right now it wouldn’t work out money wise.. any advice? 😕 I am in MN minimum wage is about $10

Depending on your states rules about nursing techs/CNAs/HHAs you might not need to take a special class you’re employer will just train you, but being able to claim formal training and an actually certificate can’t hurt. I will say that in my experience (living and working in the north east- Philly area and North Jersey) CNAs make between $10-15/hour depending on hours and experience so if you are anticipating a big income jump from where you are now I would say to be cautiously optimistic. From a purely practical view point your time and effort may be better leveraged by trying to advance yourself in the industry your in, strive for management and to keep moving up. The Vice President of Hooters started there as a waitress!

Where are you. What's minimum wage there. Honestly I am a CNA. You're going to start just about minimum wage. It's very hard work. Very grueling. If you're established where you are I would stay, and go to school at the same time. Take afternoon / night classes. It's good you only work mornings right now. The only sucky thing is your days off are split. But your days off are good, because classes usually are not on sundays so it leaves you an open day to dedicate to studying etc.

You can probably work at a hospital as the same can type job but without taking the classes 🤷🏼‍♀️ I make $14 at a hospital for that
