Has anyone had tubes put in their ears as an adult?

I've had them before when I was almost three years old, but I'm now having to get a t-tube put in one ear and a regular tube in the other in about a month for a massive fluid backup in my ears.  I know I need to keep water from getting in my ears afterwards but besides that, is there anything else I need to remember?  If anyone's had a t-tube put in, I'd love to hear your experiences.

I have eaustachian tube dysfunction (tube is flat instead of curved so fluid doesn’t drain properly) which causes tons of pressure in my left ear. Similar to being on an airplane. I had tubes 3 times as an adult. Twice was just a regular tube similar to what children sometimes get, but those were more of a bandaid and only sort of fixed the issue. They relieved some of the pressure, but I still couldn’t hear very well. When I moved to Kansas, a new ENT discovered that my ear drum was caved in backwards due to negative pressure and that had shattered the bone behind it. I had to have all of it reconstructed and then a permanent tube was placed. The difference was night and day. I could hear again and the pressure was completely gone. The tube worked itself out after 6 years and while my ear does sometimes get full again and has pressure, I’ve found that taking a daily allergy pill and then using a nasal spray when my ear is acting up have helped a great deal. So yes, tubes can be beneficial in adults as well as children. Hope you feel better!!

I had to get one in my right ear when I was 27. Got it out 2 years later and doing okay. Yeah make sure you keep it clean . Don’t stick things in it .

I've almost had tubes put in my ears when I was younger but my mom said I was too old to have them so idk. I had a ruptured ear drum before and I get fluid in my ears alot

My sister had one a few years ago. Think the primary thing is like you said, keep water out. Your Dr should walk you through everything.
