How do you deal with absent parents?

My son is almost 3 months old now and his father isn’t around. He has seen him twice since he was born - once at a day old and once at 2 1/2 weeks. He only agreed to meet him again at 2 1/2 weeks old because I yelled at him and called him a deadbeat because he doesn’t do anything for him and doesn’t make time for him but has time for his girlfriend and her family. He has canceled on seeing his son for his girlfriend even. Around 2 months I told him I was fed up and he will not see his son or hear about him anymore. It’s not like he asks to anyways but I wanted to draw a clear line. He had his girlfriend text me back saying they will take me to court. I’m not worried since he has not done one thing for his son, even his sister said he would not get anything. But how do you guys deal with absent parents? It frustrates me and hurts me so bad when I see him posting with her baby niece and her nephew and going to monster jam and hanging out with her every day, but not seeing his son. My heart hurts for my son so bad....

You have an adorable little man! My son's father stopped caring or even trying communicate with me since I was 20wks. I have a loving boyfriend who my child sees as his father.
I would suggest moving on. Take him to court get child support. When your son gets older and starts asking for his dad try to reach out again. If his father still is being a deadbeat explain to your son you love him but can't force him to be apart of his life. If you have male family members ask them to be around to help him fill that void of not having his father.

My son’s bio dad left when I was 8 weeks. He’s never seen or paid anything for him. I met my husband 3 months pp. He’s been dad since as long as my son can remember. I made sure my dad was around as often as possible and I picked two really good god fathers. I wasn’t expecting to meet my husband that early on. Tomorrow is my husband/son’s adoption hearing  4 years later :) I’m so glad I never tried to fight for my ex to see him. He was better off with no dad than a dad that didn’t want him (even though we were married and it was planned or so I thought).

I struggled with my ex for over two years with being apart of our son's life. He would post online and tell people about how much he loves him and misses him, how depressed he was, and how horrible I was for keeping him "hostage" for child support, etc. But he would never check in on him, never ask to see him, never try to support him, nothing. My son is 4 now, I'm married to a man that adores him and treats him as his own, and we haven't heard a word from that deadbeat in over a year. I struggled hard with my anger towards him for doing this to our precious little boy. It made me very bitter until I got together with my now husband. My birth father didn't raise me, and neither will my son's.. But you know what. We are 1000% better off! If he won't step up, someone else will!

Focus on you and your beautiful son. If he doesn’t want to be around then don’t force him to be. Your son deserves the people in his life that love him unconditionally and CHOOSE HIM everyday. And I’d like to see him try bringing you to court 🙄 even if he got partial custody I doubt he’d show up by the looks of it. You’re so strong momma ! And you are everything to your little boy !

I wouldn’t even bother honestly. If he doesn’t make the effort. Cut him out of the picture. Stop watching what he’s doing with his time. It’ll just hurt u more for your son. I’m sure u just want ur son to have a father ; there are great guys out there who actually step up and take on those roles. Better than their birth fathers ever could. He will realize someday he made a huge mistake and will wish he could do things differently. But by then you all will have moved on to a better life without bio dad in it. If he takes u to court then let him try.. see if he actually jumps thru the courts hoops.

Be careful with threatening or explicitly stating that he can't see his son.  That kind of thing can bite you.  It will look better to the court of you have documentation of you offering visitation, and him declining.

Baby girl listen my mom told me to stop worrying about anyone not spending time with my kids. She said as long as my kids can say "my mama was always there" then I'm good. 
When your son gets old his father WILL regret not seeing him grow up not being around and that will eat him in side trust me. U just focus on making sure your son is good. And dont bash his father around him let your son form his own opinion when he us older.

You sound like an awesome mom and as your son grows, he’ll realize that he doesn’t need anyone else to love him as long as he has you around. In the end the father will be the one with the regret of never being there for his child. I wouldn’t try to force him to see the baby because you don’t know if he’ll actually show him affection or make him feel bad. Kids always know and remember who was there to care and love them when they needed it.
