Sending a terrible napper to daycare

Jessica

I have to go back to work in two weeks, baby will be 10 weeks old- and I work 12 hour shifts at a hospital. My baby has had horrible reflux which is now under control with medications- but we had been letting her nap in my arms and sleep in the swing at night to get us through while we were in survival mode. I’m afraid I have a high-needs baby anyways and she WILL NOT nap unless she is being held or in the swing. I have been trying to swaddle and lay her down drowsy but awake, comforting her and laying her back down.. i it’s been a week of trying for hours at a time and she isn’t doing any better. By the evening she has not napped at all and is a bear, so I usually give up and let her sleep in her carrier on me.

The daycare is not going to be able to do this, and cannot let her sleep in her swing. She has to sleep on a flat mattress in a crib which has NEVER happened for us. I am really starting to panic. It’s a 4:1 daycare and I can’t imagine trying to care for my baby and three others all day. Luckily it’s only two days per week and my husband can leave work early occasionally to pick her up a few hours early- but I’m totally panicking and crying as I’m writing this...

I’m looking for some encouragement or maybe anyone who has worked at a daycare that can tell me I’m not sending my baby off to somewhere where she is going to scream all day?

Has anyone else had an 8 week old that wouldn’t nap and it magically got better by 10 weeks? I’m seriously praying for a miracle at this point, I don’t know what else to do!
