So I just got out of a long term relationship in which I’m contracted HSV1. Since being out, I’ve been seeing this guy and he’s mentioned wanting to have sex, but I’m scared of the possibility of giving it to him. I don’t ever have out breaks (other than the initial) but i know shedding can still cause transmission. I don’t know how effective condoms are at preventing the transmission of it, but are there any other ways to help prevent the transmission of the virus?
