Does anyone else have this car seat?

It’s an Evenflo. I can get this one for $5. The one on my registry is much more expensive so if I can get this one for so cheap and it not be expired, I don’t see why not!

Buying a used car seat has nothing to do with the quality and everything to do with safety. Unless you know the person selling it, absolutely don’t buy it. You don’t know if it’s been in a wreck or compromised in any way. And unfortunately, you don’t know if that person is being honest with you about that. I know car seats are super expensive and I have a hard time passing up a deal for an expensive baby item, but sometimes it’s just truly worth the cost to buy an item new.

If it’s used, there are so many things that could compromise the safety.  If it was ever in an accident, if it was stored in extreme conditions (like in a garage), if detergents were used on the straps to clean them, etc.  just pay the money for the safety of a new one.  A lot of states have programs that will give you a free one if you qualify due to income situations.

The one thing you should never buy cheap unless you know the person selling is a car seat. So many ways it could have been damaged and not work properly and you will have no idea until you need it to work right.

I would just buy a new one. Baby safety is  #1 priority.

Honestly I wouldn’t just because it’s cheap doesn’t mean it is safe. I have the car seat from my first son but however I felt more at ease getting a new one. Just get the new one.
