When to tell toddler about baby #2

Hi, I just found out that I am pregnant with #2. I am only 5 weeks along, and I am wondering how and when to tell my 2-year-old. Does anyone have some advice?

I’ve read to wait until you’re showing etc because it’s soooo long to them that they’re just like whatever. So once you have a bump

I’m about 13 weeks, and we told him when we told our families around 10 weeks. It felt pretty weird to leave him out of it and not talk about it with him. While he probably doesn’t fully comprehend the change that’s about to happen, and probably won’t remember it, the other day he ran and sat in my lap and said “baby mommy tummy”, and it absolutely melted my heart.

I am 32 weeks and have barely discussed it with my son because it is still so far away for him. We have books and YouTube videos and a baby doll for him all ready to go but dont plan to really push it until around 38 weeks. He has trouble waiting for something that is happening tomorrow so if I start too early I think he will just stop paying attention after a few weeks.

I waited until I told my family so he wouldn’t say anything in front of them. He’s not quite old enough to understand, but I’ll ask him where baby is and he will pull up my shirt and point to my tummy lol!

We just lost our baby at 14 weeks and hadn’t told the toddler that I was expecting yet.  She has no idea what’s going on.

We told my son pretty early on.  Im 35 weeks now, so i feel like weve been talking about it forever, but also like he gets it more now.  He def noticed my belly getting bigger, even trued pushing my bellybutton in a few tines, then laughed hysterically.   
    I will say hes a wicked mamas boy though and says baby yuck, mommy and me quite often!
