I left my husband over a year ago. It was a long time coming but he acted like I blindsided him. Everything was always my fault. I accepted my part in the marriage and tried to get better over the years. I went to counseling and tried to get him to go with me but he refused. He only went to counseling after I had left for good. I met someone about a month after moving out and realized how I should have been treated. I filed for divorce, he told me he would sign the papers. I found out I was pregnant and he didn’t sign the divorce papers. Now he is refusing to sign and his reason is I owe him money on a property that I have no rights to. I know he is mad at me for moving on but I don’t think he realizes he is making it worse for himself in the long run. I don’t want him to have any rights to this baby but Ny state assumes the father of the baby is the man you are married to. I just want him to let me go!! I don’t want anything from him. Has anyone else had a similar experience with not getting divorce yet and having someone else’s baby? Any advice?
