Conflicted emotions

I'm so happy about our first baby, 13 weeks and adore looking at my ultrasound pic.

Excited to share news with family, made plans with hubby to visit grandparents, which is where things took a horrible turn. Arrived on Saturday to learn that my Grandpa was already unconscious and in the 'final stages'... We were too late.

I sat next to his bed and told him anyway, but he couldn't respond.

He passed away the following morning.

Somehow it feels like he waited to know (they say hearing is the last thing to go), but I'm in pieces that he never saw, and our baby won't meet him 💔
