switching from pill to implant

i stopped taking the pill about two months ago bc i got super emotional and became so hormonal. it was like i was constantly on my period. i have a consultation april 1st for the implant to see it's right for me. i know it's still a hormonal birth control but it doesn't have estrogen so im hoping it will effect my endocrine system differently. has anyone had problems being super hormonal on the implant? i also have anxiety so it makes it worse. yes, i have look into nonhormonal options such as the copper IUD, but i decided against it. i have also heard that on the implant you get your period much less often and it's lighter, but when you do get it it can be longer. ive also heard it can be kind of sporadic and not follow a cycle. opinions please!! does anyone w the implant get hormonal? and what's your period like on it?
