Short Maternity Leave this time around?
Any other moms not expecting a long maternity leave when baby gets here? I've been able to have 12 weeks with each of my other kiddos, but I was laid off at 13 weeks with this pregnancy and just started a new job yesterday and don't expect to have much time off this time. Financially we just can't afford it after being unemployed for 10 weeks & I won't have any time saved up for any PTO, unfortunately. I'll barely be making the cutoff to get my insurance reinstated as it is!
My new job works me remote from home 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, so I will stay with my baby, but obviously be dealing with the stress of juggling a newborn, night time waking & nursing and also working full-time during the day. (My husband watches the kids during the morning and early afternoon while I work and he goes to work the evening shift while I take over with the kids.) I anticipate maybe asking for 1-2 weeks off at this point, but we will see. 🙄
Anyone else in a tough spot this time around? I know it's not ideal, but I had everything set up well with my previous job, then life happened, and this is where I'm at.
Anyone else struggling with worrying about this, too?
