Gifts for nurses after birth??

What are you guys doing for the gift for the nurses? I've heard alot of people say that they prefer food. Any ideas?

I had so many nurses, midwives and ob’s watching me I would have been broke if I got them all a present. I just gave a massive hug and said thanks for keeping us both alive.

We always appreciate food and snacks. When it’s busy, sometimes it’s hard to actually eat a meal so we just snack all day on whatever we have available. However, you don’t have to get the nurses anything-we’re just doing our jobs. What is nice is to feel appreciated and not put down or yelled at if we forget something or come a little bit late with your medication. I’m not an OB nurse, I’m an ER nurse. I can’t tell how hard it is when you just spent an hour trying to save a persons life—loose them—and then have one of your other patients complain that you were late with a cup of ice water for them 😔. So believe me—just being patient and understanding that your not the only patient in the hospital is more than enough.  (However, if your nurse is seriously slacking or being rude—-do call them out on it for sure). No matter what else we’re doing-it’s never okay to treat patients like that.

I ordered a large order of cookies. They were all individually wrapped. Also they were Halloween theme bc it we left the hospital on Halloween, but she does so many different varieties. The nurses seemed to really love them! 
I ordered from this website, they were delicious. I continue to order them for my daughter’s bday each year.

My cousin makes chocolates so I had her bring a mix for the nurses to share :)

Yeah food is always good. It's hard to buy a gift that will be shared amongst staff, especially if you miscount a member of staff and someone misses out.
