NICU baby

Rayanna • Wife to the best❤️💍 Mommy to a queen👑 Pregnant with a prince 🤴

My baby was born last week at 34+5. He has been in the NICU since immediately after birth. He was on a breathing machine, a bed to help keep his temperature up, lV, photo therapy and a feeding tube. He has worked so hard this past week and got him self down to a smaller breathing machine, then down to oxygen. He got off the lights, he's maintaining his blood sugar so he's off the IV and is in a regular crib now. But he is still on his feeding tube 😢. He can't come home until he learns to eat on his own, wich I know is hard work and takes time. But I was discharged from the hospital and our boarding is over and now we have to be away from him and I don't know how to handle it. He has his own room I can stay in but I also have a 3 year old daughter and she's not allowed to be in the room because it's still considered flu season. I'm also breastfeeding, so since I can't be there I have been pumping around the clock and dropping it off every night while I get to practice feeding him and spend about an hour before I have to go again. Has anyone else had a NICU baby in the same situation? How long untill they started eating by them selves and how long after that until they went home? I'm really struggling here and haven't stopped crying, I need both my babies with me.
