Birth control?

I’m 17 and I’ve been experimenting with guys, I always use condoms. I’ve been researching on birth control and I want to take the pill. The thing is that I’ve been trying to convince my mother but she is totally against it. Is there a any way to get birth control like at a planned parenthood without my mom knowing? (I know it’s not the best idea, and I want be safe)

I’m unsure of whether this varies state to state, but I know that in Michigan you only have to be 17 to medicate yourself. However, when it comes to health insurance, your mom will receive statements from Planned Parenthood. She legally cannot do anything about you choosing to be on birth control. I would recommend you ask your doctor to prescribe you birth control, and if your mom gets mad about it, tell her that you are sexually active, and that you wish to practice safe sex. I honestly don’t understand how any parent could ever be against that. 😣

You can also try telling her you have really bad menstrual cramps/heavy bleeding and that birth control is meant to relieve some of that
