Pregnant after miscarriage

Okay friends, I had a miscarriage on February 19th at 5 weeks. My doctor said my chances of a successful pregnancy after miscarriage were good and that he saw nothing wrong with my ovaries or uterus, he told me my period should return in 4-6 months, however we were okay to start trying immediately again (if we felt up to it). We have been trying since the bleeding subsided about a week later. My period hasn’t returned so my question to all of you is; if you’ve had a miscarriage, how quickly did you get pregnant again? And also, how long should I wait before testing again?
