Here’s my story 
So I met my boyfriend in a group chat on a social media platform, we were the only active ones and I got encouragement to pm him first. He started showing signs that he was into me so I let him know that I like him. 2 month of talking and we started dating, we’re are now 5 month in and this is both of ours first relationships. He’s honestly great but the struggle is real, it’s mostly  wanting to be physically there with him but it be like that sometimes 🤷🏽‍♀️ I’m 16 he’s 18❤️ btw he’s from NZ and I’m from the US

My boyfriend and I met online almost exactly 4 years ago.  It was a dating site, but we were just friends for almost a year. When I left the site after only a month, I gave him my Skype. We talked pretty much all the time when he was at work, my night and his day since we were a 7 or 8 hour time difference from each other. He was my best friend and confidante. We lost touch when he lost that job unexpectedly. About 8 months later, I redownloaded Glide cuz I was super bored and wanted to talk to someone. If you're unfamiliar with the app, you can just talk to people you know or you can put yourself on "discover" so other people can see that you're online. Well within 2 minutes of me putting myself on discover, I get this message saying "no fucking way"....it was him.  That was August 2016, and we started talking constantly... literally all day and night. We had always talked about meeting in person in kind of an abstract way (he's from the US but lives and works in Saudi Arabia as a teacher), and we always said when he came back to the States over summer, he'd make a trip to see me. Well, when he found out his break schedule for the school year, it turned out his first break was the week of my birthday, and he suggested that we go to Dubai for my birthday and to finally meet. I wasn't working at the time, but I was able to make it work and booked my flight. When I booked my flight and told him, he was beyond excited and asked me if it was ok with me that I not be with anyone else until we met and see if our chemistry was the same in person. I agreed and I'm so glad I did. I've been only his since September 2016. When I wrapped my arms around him for the first time, I knew I was home with him. Our chemistry in person is off the charts amazing!  Now, in less than 5 months, I'll be moving to KSA to be a teacher there as well. It's been a long time since I've seen him because I went to grad school to earn my teaching degree, and our breaks have not lined up. It honestly is worth it. He's worth it all....and he kinda accidentally let slip he's got some sort of something in the works so that we can see each other before August when I move there, but he won't tell me what until it's set in stone. 
I would suggest that if you want to watch things together that you check out rabb.it. The app allows you to watch together, but the actual website allows you to stream from Netflix, Hulu, or any other website you want with the Chrome extension while using your webcams and microphones, so everything is all in one window. It has seriously changed our comfort level and brought us even closer together. We fall asleep on cam with each other every single night.

I met him on Bumble when I was visiting Australia last January. We met in the city and got food. Ended up spending basically the rest of the month with him until I had to go back to Canada. He came and visited me in the summer for two weeks and again for over Christmas. I finally just moved to Australia last week to live with him for a year! 
Long distance relationships can work if both of you want it enough ! :)

When I was 15 I was all over tinder. Just playing around, talking to guys and ditching them. While I was at the beach on vacation with my family I had started talking to this one guy maison and this other guy Roby at the same time. I ended up dating Roby for a year, things didn’t work out yada yada. Then when I was 19, Maisons cousin texted me and asked if I was single. Because he had a friend who liked working out and was sweet like me. And that’s when me and my boyfriend started talking! We talked a couple months, went out on our first date and the rest is history!

It wasn't until the first couple months of 2016 that things started to change and we decided together to try a long distance relationship and we will be together 3 years in may ❤️ working on closing the gap and having a family together.

My boyfriend and i met through a language exchange app. An app where you help eachother learn a language. We talked a lot and got to know each other a lot and we slowly fell for each other. But we took it slow! I’ve known him for a year and we’re just 3,5 month together now. He is 6000 miles away from me and we have a 7 hour difference but just 9 months until i meet him❤️✈️

My husband and I met on Facebook. I was totally not interested in a relationship and was extremely happy on my own after 2 years of being single. My previous relationship was 6 years long, and I had decided I’d stay single until I found someone worth marrying and building a life with. When we met him being 6,000+ miles away definitely wasn’t something I was willing to deal with in a relationship. He was sweet, hardworking, motivated, persistent, smart, funny, and a great guy in so many ways. Two months after we started chatting,  I agreed to date him long distance. 5 months after we started dating I went to Nigeria and we got married. Coming back to the US without my husband was honestly one of the worst feelings. We’ve been together 14 months now and married almost 9. I haven’t seen him since I left Nigeria. I’m planning another trip before the year ends. He should be home with me by this time next year God willing.

My bf and I met originally abt 2 years ago. I had just gotten out of an abusive relationship, and so when my professor found out I was single, he took it upon himself to find me “a nice Arab boy” 😂 Cut to a few weeks later he asks me to come to his office hours. When I get there the profs not there but my soon to be bf was 😂 
We dated for abt a year before splitting up— both of us weren’t really mature enough for how serious the relationship was getting, I really needed time alone to fully recover from my previous abuse and become independent again, and we were both moving to diff states and weren’t ready to do long distance. 
We stayed split up for abt 9 months, maintaining an on and off friendship. Finally decided to get back together a few months back and it’s been great!  We’ve both grown and matured and are clearly ready for a lot more, and some of the big problems each of us had, we’ve grown out of or fixed. 
We’ll be in an LDR for abt 1.5 years, but if he can come to russia with me for a semester, and I can do online classes in VA for a while, then we can cut down on that time apart.

And tried to get jobs in the same city, it just didn’t work out that way. It’s been 4 months of distance. And we plan to either move to his city or to mine within the next year!

I work all over my state and occasionally out of state.  I am based mostly out of two major cities in my state.  I was working in one city and the bf came in where I was working.   I was still married but saw him once a month or so for several years,  just being friendly.   When the divorce happened,  things started getting friendlier.   He asked me out a month or so before the divorce was final but I didn't take him up on it for 6 more months.  We've been together since,  and are going on almost 2 years.  We were semi LD most of that time, living an hour and a half plus apart, but a month and a half ago I moved to within 15 mins of him.
