So my husband just left with his mom. My nephew who is under a month old is going to the hospital to see a specialist. It’s 3 in the morning. They left around 1 AM, and they were waiting for an ambulance to take them two hours away to a bigger hospital. Here’s the situation: he was born small and looking malnourished, his mother and father are addicts and she smoked and drank during her pregnancy. He was circumcised and sent home. They all live with my MIL. She’s been taking care of the baby for the most part but leaves them with him every so often. Since he was circumcised he’s been having discoloration issues. It’s healed up now I guess? But it’s purple, which is why they’re sending him to a specialist. They will absolutely not allow him to be driven by my MIL, it’s not being treated as an emergency but they still have to take the ambulance. The mother has a history of violence and so does my husband’s brother. The baby has FAS, and she still smokes and has my MIL take care of him for the most part. I think they’re trying to monitor them on the way to the hospital. That and, the mother is LOVING the attention, you can tell. I worry for that poor baby, I really do. I hope everything is okay. I can’t help but think that something more is going on.
