Copper IUD??

Hey y’all, so I’m trying to get birth control but for medical reasons I can’t be on any hormones. Has anyone had the copper IUD (ParaGuard)?? I’ve heard IUDs can be painful when you first get them. What can I expect if I get this one??

Iv had kine 2 months. I hd it placed about 8 weeks after my baby was born. Nothing compared to labor but if I hadn't not just had a baby Nd my cervix was still open it probably would have hurt. They did put some numbing cream before they insert it too. I had started my pierod that morning too so It made everything easier. Its actually best to wait till the first day of your pierod becUE ur slinky dilated and it "slips" in easier. My cycles got shorter so far im on my 3rd since I got it.

I have the copper IUD currently. I have the Paraguard. The insertion was extremely painful for me and I cried for about a day with some bleeding. I’ve been on it for a year last month and have had no problems other than getting more utis than usual, that could also just be from several other things though. Other than that I love it and not having to worry about taking a pill every day

I've had the paragard twice. Never had any pain. Not with insertion, or while it was in. You might get a little crampy after its inserted. But the IUD itself doesnt hurt to have.
