What do I tell my work

Hi ladies,
I recently found out I’m 7 weeks pregnant and will be scheduling an abortion later on today. If I’m honest I’m completely fine with it, I made one mistake and there’s no need to let that affect my whole life however I don’t want people to know and I’m not sure what to tell my boss when I ask for time off. I don’t want to tell her the truth when I’ve decided to not even tell my mother so I’m thinking of saying I’m having minor surgery but I’m nervous she’s going to ask what for and then I won’t know what to say. Does anyone have any suggestions that isn’t far from the truth but won’t give the game away? Also I’m supposed to be going away in 17 days and I know your not supposed to travel immediately after, does anyone have any experience with BPAS and how long it takes after you make an appointment?

I told my work I was having a procedure done, that’s all they needed to know, it’s not their business. You can always respond with I would rather not discuss it. But I Had it done on Friday, March 22 so a little over a week and half ago, I made sure to take off the following day. But Sunday rolled around and I still felt crappy so took an extra day. But to be honest I felt the worst about 4 days after the procedure, it was last Tuesday, I had the worst of the cramps and the most bleeding ( filling up over night pads pretty quickly) that day. But I’d give yourself at least the day of the procedure and definitely one day if not 2 to allow yourself time to recover. Everyones bodies are different so you won’t know how you really feel till you’re going through it. This is if you’re having it surgically done. And I know you don’t want to tell anyone, which is perfectly fine, but keep in mind if you have is surgically done and want to be put under (which I recommend, if it’s possible for you) you need someone to go with you. They won’t let you drive yourself, just Incase you didn’t know. If you do it medically by pill, you will be in pain and dealing with the symptoms for longer then if you were to do it surgically. If you’re having a surgical, then yes, I’d tell your boss you’re having a outpatient/minor surgery or procedure and that you’ll need the day of and possibly day after to recover. For reference, I had a surgical on a Friday morning and felt normally physically the next day. Went back to work on Monday. It’s none of your boss’s business what the details of the procedure are. If they ask, depending on your relationship with them, I’d either remind them that those details aren’t their business (like, I’d prefer to keep the details of my healthcare between me and my doctor). Personally, my boss knew because I had morning sickness so bad that I had to tell her weeks prior what was up bc I was abruptly needing to step out of meetings.
