Implantation help

Would someone mind giving me a breakdown of implantation and how it works, when it occurs- how many dpo- and how soon after you would test for pregnancy?

Sorry- new to TTC so I am trying to make sure I don’t test too early as I’m only 7dpo and testing far to early and feeling let down- my own fault but I think a harsh dose of reality may help 🙄
