Baby shower packages etiquette?!

My shower is in May but I’m starting to get
Some packages delivered to me now from my registry.. do I open the packages and see who it’s from and write a thank you? Or assume it’s for the shower and to be opened then.. I don’t know who they are from.

More than likely they mailed it to you b/c they won’t be at the shower. I went ahead and sent cards for the ones we got via mail. A lot easier to do a few thank you notes at a time than wait and have a ton to do all at once.

Unless it’s at your house I would open them now & send thank you cards as soon as you can. No sense in dragging them to a different location!

I’d send all my thank you cards at the same time after the shower, mostly for convenience sake. Just don’t forget to send them.

I opened them before and made a list and thanked those people at the shower and said what they’d sent to the house, but usually they are sending things because they are larger items, they can’t come to the shower or are long distance so I think if they are sending it’s usually fine to open ahead and get a jump start on thank you notes and such.

I opened and sent thank yous. Most of the packages I received in advance were from people that couldn’t attend my shower. A few that were from people that attended, I made sure to share what they had gotten when I was opening gifts at the shower.

I think it’s up to you. If those people are going to be at the shower to watch you open them then maybe wait. But if not then open them now. It’s less for you to go through at the shower. And you can always make a list of the gifts you received and mention them during the shower. 
Like we wanted to say thank you to so and so for sending this gift. Blah blah blah. Or we’ve also received some clothes, diapers, big gifts in the mail.

Either one. But I would personally wait for the baby shower date. It’s a lot more fun opening gifts with people. Haha, so I would assume. Never had one before
