Used gifts for baby shower?

Question

So my s/o has a bunch of friends he’s inviting for the baby shower. One of them told us that he was just going to give us a bunch of his daughters old baby clothes as a gift. He has no money issues from what I know and we had no clothes on the baby registry I’ve sent to everyone as I’ve received a bunch of clothes from family and friends before the baby shower and buying some pieces here and there. Some of the clothes and items were even used and I have NO issues with that. But now I have a drawer filled with clothes (up till 2t) and I was going to return any clothes I received with the baby shower since I figured they’d at least have tags or something.
Am I overreacting because I don’t want to receive the second hand clothes? 
I tried suggesting other things to get like saying “oh we’re having a diaper raffle and that would benefit us a lot if you ever want to join” but idk if he got the message...
Update: I think I’ll just accept the gifts and give them away! Good idea guys thank you 🙏

Whilst not all of us would gift used items, I think it’s best to appreciate the thought and just smile and say thank you. If they aren’t items that you feel you need, pass them on to a charity or to someone who will appreciate them

Gifts shouldn’t be mandatory, and while it might not be the most appealing choice to receive, it shouldn’t matter. Showers are supposed to be to celebrate your pregnancy with friends/family. So just smile, accept it and keep it in the closet just in case or pass it along to someone else. You never know, they might actually come in handy 🤷🏼‍♀️ I thought I had enough, I got more used clothes from a friend and i was so thankful.

I don't think you should expect any gift from anyone, no matter how much money they have.
If you don't need the clothes, I would say "Thank you so much for thinking of us! Unfortunately we already have more clothes than we can store, but we would still love for you to come celebrate with us and have a slice of cake!"
Baby showers are nice, but gifts should always be appreciated and not expected.

I gave my sister a bunch of really nice gently used clothes and toys at her shower. I asked if it was ok first but everyone I’m close to would never have an issue with this. I don’t have an issue with used items as gifts 🤷🏻‍♀️ to each their I own I guess.

If you don’t want them, give them to someone else or give them to somewhere like goodwill or the Salvation Army

My aunt gave me a bunch of used clothes for my daughter  when I was pregnant but not for my baby shower. She bought me something separate for the event and the clothes she just gave throughout my pregnancy. I do think it’s a bit cheap to do that as a shower gift

I’d understand if he was giving them to you other than a baby shower gift. To me it’s like your gift was a second thought and he just grabbed all her old clothes. I doubt you’ll use them anyway if you already have a bunch.
