Is this normal?

At my ob office there’s like 6 different obs there. I had my original one but something happened and she had to take a long break they don’t know when she will be back. So for every appointment I see a different ob and have been through every single one in that office and it’s quite annoying. I wanted just one that I would see the entire time who knew me and what I needed and knew my body so I wasn’t left in the dark or having someone who doesn’t know me driver my baby. Would you be annoyed or does this happen to a lot of people?

There’s 4 different OBs and a midwife at my practice and I love all of them. If you have a preference, say so and book your appointments with your preference. There won’t be a guarantee they will deliver your baby because only the “on call” doctor does so, that’s probably why you’re seeing all of them so you’re familiar with them.

In my ob group they want you to go to everyone in their practice and meet them because you never know who will be on call when you go into labor. I scheduled my first appointment with my regular doctor as I felt most comfortable with that, but for next week’s appointment I’ll be seeing someone new.

I had to rotate thru mine as I was high risk and they wanted each to be very familiar with me in case I went into labor early. That way whoever was on call knew my needs

I read on the app the other day that it is “normal” but I’ve never had that happen. I go to one OB and her and her nurse are the only ones I deal with. I’m not sure if it’s because I live in a smaller town or what. But we have probably 10 different OB’s here (most have their own office) and everyone I know only deals with theirs. They don’t have to see a different one every time.

I believe this is standard practice as you never know who will be on call when you go into labor. My OB’s office has three different OBs and I had an appointment with each one of them (including my original OB), they do this so if someone other than your OB is on call you’ll at least have met them once.

I have a group of 4 midwives that can deliver at my chosen hospital but only 1 high risk doctor. I see all the midwives but the same high risk doctor every 4 weeks. If the midwives notice anything or need advice, they call my high risk doctor and he tells them what he wants them to do. It worked out fine for my last labor and delivery...the midwife delivered my baby but the doctor poked his head in to make sure everything was going according to plan. In labor, I just want someone to get the baby OUT...don’t care too much who it is because they’re all very competent.

Ive seen one doctor my entire pregnancy. And at my oddicr, your doctor delivers you, unless you go in at night. Then you see the on call till your doctor comes in the morning.

I go to a midwifery practice that has teams of 4-5, so you see them all throughout pregnancy and whoever is on call attends the birth. I don’t mind it at all

Sounds normal. The place I go reccomends from the beginning to see all of them throughout your pregnancy because you never know who will be delivering your baby. I've seen 3 so far in my pregnancy and will see the others for my next appointments because even though I'm having a scheduled c-section I'll get whatever doctor is on call for whatever day I choose to schedule.

Is this normal?
