Is this normal? FTM question.

Question

My girl will be 8 weeks on Friday. I last fed her at 9pm. She had the boob first (couldn’t have gotten more than 1.5-2 oz, my supply isn’t great) and then a 3oz formula bottle. Finally fell asleep at 11pm & just woke at 2:45am to eat. Is that too long in between feedings?  I’m freaking out because she usually eats every 3ish hours. This is the longest she’s gone between feedings since she was born. Should I have woken her?

Keep in mind that the average mom who is pumping between breastfeeding sessions can express between ONE and THREE oz per pumping session (not per breast, per session). It cannot be stressed enough that the amount of milk you able to pump is NOT ever a reliable indicator of how much milk you are producing, nor how much milk baby is taking in. The healthy breastfed baby is usually much more efficient at getting milk from the breast than a pump is.

But, yeah it’s normal for them to start sleeping longer stretches. And unless there is a weight gaining problem, there shouldn’t be a need to wake  up for feed.

Your baby is going to gradually sleep longer at night, unless the doctor is worried about her weight, just let her sleep

She would’ve woken you up sooner if she was hungry. It’s okay to let her sleep as long as she’s gaining weight.
